About Our PTA
Shrinking budgets. Increasing class sizes. Government mandates. The challenges of delivering quality education are daunting. There is help. It’s the PTA.
Increased Parental Involvement
Our goal is to encourage and facilitate parental involvement in school activities and decision-making processes. When parents are engaged and take part in school affairs, it creates a positive and supportive environment for students. Increased parental involvement is linked to improved academic performance, better attendance rates, and reduced behavioral issues among students.
Enhanced Communication
We serve as a channel of communication between parents, teachers, administrators, and the school community. We strive to provide a platform for sharing information, discussing concerns, and fostering open dialogue. Effective communication leads to better understanding, collaboration, and cooperation among all stakeholders, creating a more cohesive and informed school environment. You are invited to join our Facebook Group to learn, share, and engage.
Fundraising and Resource Allocation
Throughout the year we organize fundraisers and other initiatives to raise funds for the school. These extra resources can be used to support various educational programs, extracurricular activities, and infrastructure improvements. The PTA plays a crucial role in mobilizing financial support from parents and the community, supplementing the school's budget, and enriching the educational experience.
Volunteer Support
We rely on volunteers to organize and execute our activities. This volunteer support can extend to various school events, classroom assistance, mentoring programs, and more. Our network of engaged parents provides a valuable resource for West Towson Elementary to tap into, enhancing the overall functioning and capacity of the school.
Sense of Community
We are committed to building a sense of community among parents, teachers, and students. Throughout the year we organize social events, family-oriented activities, and collaborative projects that bring people together. This sense of community fosters a supportive network, promotes school spirit, and strengthens the overall school culture.
