As we approach the season of thanks and giving... we're getting our Westy families back together for an evening of fun, giving thanks, celebrating kindness, and learning about helping those we can!
WHEN: Friday, November 17th, 6-8pm
WHERE: WTES Gym/Cafeteria
WHO: All of our Westy families
DETAILS: In the spirit of giving, during this event we will be collecting donations for the organization, Comfort Cases, based out of Rockville, MD. Watch this short video to see why we fell in love with this organization and their mission:
Click here for a list of the items we will be collecting. In addition to collecting items for the Comfort Cases, we will also have craft stations for our students to decorate bookmarks and make bracelets to send to the children who are helped by Comfort Cases. Comfort Cases calls this concept, #KIDSHELPINGKIDS.
All children who either bring an item to donate and/or decorate a bookmark/make a bracelet to give, will receive this exclusive, "I'M A PROUD WESTY #KIDSHELPINGKIDS" event sticker! Any families who bring an item to donate may also provide us with their contact information to be entered to win two tickets to the Kennedy Krieger Festival of Trees (a $40 value!)
We also want this event to encourage our Westies to think about the things and people for which they are grateful. We're going to have a "Thankful Wall" covered in paper where students can share these ideas in writing for all to see.
But wait! There's more! Another station will be called, "Kindness ROCKS" where students can paint rocks that will be displayed outside of school for everyone to enjoy!
And when the kiddos aren't writing messages and crafting we'll have fun music playing for dancing and access to the gym equipment for some good ol' fashion FUN!! There will be something for everyone!
Come hungry because we will have food trucks, a hot cocoa and cookie truck, and a coffee truck to give you that extra pep to keep up with our WILD and wonderful Westies!!
But make sure you save some $$ for Westy merch including a fun new item we will have on sale!

Now through December 31, 2023, Target Circle Members can cast votes earned from their Target purchases for Comfort Cases to help them receive a share of Target's corporate giving.
